Producing versions of Kinder Surprise eggs designed to be used as Christmas tree decorations is a stroke of marketing genius. What could be more christmassy than a sparkly ornament containing a chocolate with a little gift inside? This is a great example of a brand linking itself with a new usage occasion in the minds of the consumer - an occasion that comes around every year for many families all over the world.
