This method works well for creative problem solving. First, research the problem and potential components of a solution from every angle. Next, immerse yourself in all the research, ideally discussing it with other people e.g. in a workshop. You might arrive at a solution there and then but not necessarily. Then, stop thinking about it, find somewhere without any distractions, and relax. Take a walk or meditate. Sleep on it. This allows your unconscious brain to explore connections between recently acquired ideas and, with any luck, find a solution to the problem. Eureka! |
