If you need to, you can wash greasy things in stages. First, remove as much of the grease as possible by scraping or using a paper towel. Next, use just a little hot water and plenty of washing up liquid and lift out as much grease as you can with a brush. Finally, pour the water away and repeat with more water and less washing up liquid to finish the job.
